Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
This plant is widely planted in gardens, and can escape into the wild. Although it can grow in disturbed and anthropogenic habitats, its seed dispersal is slow and it does not quickly colonize new areas. It has established in a few new sites in the northeast, where it is uncommon to rare. We mark these new populations expanded because they are close to the native range.
