Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.

This species is expanding its range north and west, due in large part to escapes from cultivation. It tends to be uncommon to rare in the farthest of the new portions of its range. We consider it expanded rather than introduced because it is consistently expanding across the entire northern and western borders of its range, and its distribution pattern is similar to that within its native range.
