Also classified as Arabis laevigata (Muhl. ex Willd.) Poir., Boechera laevigata (Muhl. ex Willd.) Al-Shehbaz.
Some authorities, including USDA PLANTS, lump Burk's smooth rockcress (Borodinia burkii) in with this species as var. burkii, treating this taxon as var. laevigata. We follow the convention of most authorities, including POWO, BONAP, and FSUS, in treating these two taxa as separate species.
