Kankakee Mallow (Iliamna remota Greene)
This taxa is disputed and treated differently in different sources. The USDA lumps it in with streambank wild hollyhock (Iliamna rivularis), a predominately western species. There is also uncertainty as to whether to separate Peters Mountain mallow (Iliamna corei) into another species, vs. lump it together with this one. We have followed the treatment of BONAP and POWO which separate all three as species.
↑Summary

This map is based on our research. We have checked its accuracy to Level 3 ecoregions. Although this plant occurs somewhere in each of these regions, it may only occur in a small part of some or all of them.
If you accept our taxonomy as valid, there is still uncertainty as to the origin of the easternmost populations, whether they are native or represent introductions. The populations along the Kankakee river are agreed to be native.
